It has a home spot
Your pet lives in the bottom-right corner by default and only takes a few steps now and then. Drag it anywhere and that becomes its new home. If you'd like it to wander, turn on Roam freely.
Free · Windows · macOS · Linux
It curls up by your clock, grooms, yawns and naps, and stays out of your way. Clicks pass right through it to your apps. Pet it when you need a break.

This is the real kitten from the app. Go ahead and pet it.

The pet only catches the mouse when you point right at it. Everywhere else, clicks reach your windows, icons and taskbar as if it weren't there.
About 1% of one CPU core while it sits. It hides and stops completely while you game or watch fullscreen video. It's built on Tauri, not Electron.

For the AppImage, run chmod +x DesktopPet-linux-x86_64.AppImage and then open it. On
Ubuntu or Debian you can install the .deb instead. Wayland doesn't let apps place their own windows,
so for now the pet works best in an X11 session.

Yes. No trial, no account and no ads.
No. The app never connects to the internet. It only checks where your mouse is, to know when you're pointing at the pet, and that never leaves your computer.
Right-click your pet, or click the cat icon in your system tray (Windows and Linux) or menu bar (macOS), and use Pet, Color and Outfit. It remembers your choices.
Drag it anywhere and drop it. That spot becomes its new home. If it ever goes missing, choose Bring pet back in the tray menu.
Yes, gently. After about 50 minutes of work, your pet suggests a stretch in a little speech bubble. Pet it to say "got it". Step away for a few minutes and it naps until you're back. You can turn reminders off in the menu.
No. When a game or video goes fullscreen, the pet hides and stops animating until you're back (on Windows today, with macOS and Linux coming next).
It updates itself. When a new version is ready, the menu shows Restart to update. It starts with your computer too, and you can switch that off in the menu.
Choose Quit in the tray menu. Uninstall it like any other app: Settings → Apps on Windows, drag it to the Trash on macOS, or remove the package on Linux.
